Leaning Into the Inevitability of Change
Card of the Day: Wheel of Fortune (Reversed)
Change. Though woven into the fabric of life, why is change so often a source of hardship?
Our bodies are in a constant state of change. From the moment we are born, we never stay the same. We grow, we age, and eventually we die—there is nothing static about our existence. It would seem that we are built for change. And yet, throughout our lives, we struggle with it.
The Wheel of Fortune reminds us of the perennial nature of change. Yes, change is inevitable. In reverse, the card invites reflection: What change am I resisting right now? What happens when I fight the current? What would my life look like if I leaned into the inevitability of change—letting go of what is no longer meant for me to carry?
Perhaps the inertia that keeps us clinging to the familiar is natural. It does not have to be a source of shame. The opportunity is to notice when we are in the orbit of that inertia and ask ourselves, without judgment:
What is the worst that can happen if this changes?
Meet fear with curiosity. What am I afraid of in this moment? What resources already exist within me to meet this change with power?
Fear is not the enemy. It is a reflex—an alert from our subconscious that something feels unsafe. Sometimes that perception is true, sometimes it is only habit. In either case, we can choose how to move forward. When we remain stuck, we become the personification of our anxiety. When we move forward, we acknowledge the feeling and walk past it.
I am in a constant state of change. I am built for change. I honor that fear is calling my attention to something tender. And I summon the power of my spirit to move forward with purpose.
How can I apply this today?
I will notice where I am resisting change and meet that resistance with curiosity.
I will ask myself what I am afraid of—and what strength I already have to meet it.
I will remind myself that I am built for adaptation.
I will honor my fear without letting it dictate my choices.
I welcome all parts of myself—known and unknown, shining and shadowed.
I honor my past for what it has taught me.
I trust my intuition to lead me.
I release what no longer serves me.
I walk forward with steadiness, guided by the light within me.
Be well, be present, be at peace.
