Holding the Light: Rediscovering Joy in Small Things

Card of the Day: Page of Pentacles

The past several days have been heavy. We've been doing what’s often called shadow work—sitting with the darker corners of ourselves, the parts we tend to sidestep, delay, or ignore. It takes resolve to face what we’d rather avoid. It takes courage.

Today feels like a reward for that courage.

The Page of Pentacles is a welcome card. Among the four Pages, this one most embodies youthful zeal. In the card, a young figure holds a golden pentacle with tender reverence, standing in a lush meadow that hums with life.

There’s wonder in the Page’s gaze. A sense of awe. Is this really mine to hold? Do I truly get to be here, part of this?

Can we meet our own moment with the same presence and joy? Can we look around with fresh eyes and see what our routines have dulled? The bird that sings each morning while we rush through the day. The play of light through the trees we keep saying we’ll walk beneath. The warmth of a neighbor’s hello. The lull of rain. The sky unfolding like a story overhead.

There is beauty here, now.

Can we let go of the past, release the pressure of the future, and dwell in this moment with full attention?

Can we remember what it feels like to be newly alive?

How can I apply this today?

  • I will look at my surroundings as though I’ve never seen them before.

  • I will seek beauty in small things.

  • I will let joy rise without questioning whether I’ve earned it.

  • I will allow myself to be fully present, just for this moment.

I welcome all parts of myself—known and unknown, shining and shadowed.

I honor my past for what it has taught me.

I trust my intuition to lead me.

I release what no longer serves me.

I walk forward with steadiness, guided by the light within me.

Be well, be present, be at peace.
